Gallery, Café, Exhibition & Event Space
The Gallery at 164 is an independent gallery, exhibition and event space in Leeds exhibiting artists, illustrators, photographers, designers and makers working in all types of media; it was born with a vision to showcase an emerging mix of styles and media from both established and emerging talents from across the UK and beyond.
Since opening in September 2011 we have shown an eclectic range of exhibitions and hosted a wide range of events, both in our Munro House space and at other locations around Leeds. Our focus has always been, and will continue to be, to support local arts and culture while also bringing artists and their work to the city from further afield.
Our in-house café is a fully licensed eat-in and take-away sandwich shop and espresso bar, selling an extensive selection of sandwiches, soup, salads and cakes; made in-house and sourced from specially selected local suppliers, including the famous ciabatta and focaccia sandwiches from the café’s sister shop near the University of Leeds – Bakery 164.
The café offers a range of speciality teas, coffee is direct trade and all milk is organic. Also available are a selection of beers and wine, as well as soft drinks and snacks. Vegan and Vegetarian options are widely available, and the café also offers catering.
Exhibition & Event Space
Events at the gallery have included wedding receptions, gigs, concerts, theatre performances, site specific installations, fairs, markets, cinema screenings, pop-up restaurants, product launches, one day exhibitions and more.
Alongside our programme of events the space is also available to hire.

Pom To The People

We've partnered with Stitch-Up for October, who will be delivering a series of unique Pom Pom making workshops alongside an interactive exhibition. This new 'happiness project' will bring people together to have fun and spread positive messages through making, sharing and turning waste into wonderful things.
