Zarjaz! 40 Years of 2000 AD

Throughout September Vice Press present a truly staggering display of original tribute art and limited edition prints from the finest art droids to grace the pages of 2000 AD. Not only that, but the exhibition will feature the rare opportunity to witness some of contemporary comics’ biggest names deliver their own takes on classic 2000 AD characters.

A must for posters and graphic art collectors, all the unique work on display will be available to add to your collection.

Ahead of the two-day Thought Bubble Comic Convention, on Friday 22 September from 7pm onwards, Vice Press and 2000 AD will be hosting a special Thought Bubble Exhibition Event at The Gallery at Munro House which will be attended by the cream of the participating artists and will include a bar as well as a few memorable surprises and highly exclusive releases.

If your circuits haven’t overloaded yet, the Nerve Centre will be making the Helltrek to Leeds deliver the ‘2000 AD Juve Cube’ – the official after-party of the opening of Vice Press Presents: Zarjaz! An Art Tribute to 40 Years of 2000 AD.

The 2000 AD Juve Cube is a riotous night of celebration featuring Live music, DJs and live art from super-star VIP droids featured in the accompanying exhibition. For 2000 AD fans, it’s the perfect way to kick off the UK’s finest comic and sequential arts festival!

Vice Press Presents: Zarjaz! An Art Tribute to 40 Years of 2000 AD will be on display at The Gallery at Munro House on Duke Street, Leeds from September 1st to September 30th 2017 with the Thought Bubble Exhibition Event taking place on Friday the 22nd of September, 7pm until 10pm. Attendees to the Vice Press exhibition will receive discounted entry to the nearby 2000 AD Juve Cube, where the party runs from 8.30pm to late at Belgrave Music Hall & Canteen in Leeds City Centre. The event is supported by the Leeds College of Art.

Thought Bubble Festival

2017’s Thought Bubble Festival programme will run from 18 – 24 September (with selected satellite and fringe events before and after these dates), and will include free art and writing based workshops for young people and adults, a two day academic conference, talks and masterclasses led by industry professionals, and a programme of sequential art related film screenings.

There is a special two day convention which includes an incredible line-up of leading artists and writers, and over 400 tables showcasing the best sequential art has to offer, with creator appearances, publisher presence, and retailers. The weekend will also feature portfolio viewings and competitions, as well as a huge cosplay parade. This promises to be one of the best events of its kind in the UK, as we enter our second decade of celebrating comics in style!

The Thought Bubble Festival is the UK’s largest event of its kind – an annual celebration of sequential art in all its forms, including everything from superhero comics to independent and small-press artists and writers.
