Taking up Space

1 June - 11 July 2020

We are delighted to be working with the awesome Bobbi Rae to bring something very special to our walls this Summer.

Women + Art!

We’ll be looking at the representation of women in art. Whilst the vast amount of space commanded by art that is made by men might not be a concern for everyone, it’s a feminist issue that it far from exclusive to the arts. This project aims to question the dynamics of our social structures and institutions by asking people to look at the way in which women take up space in male-dominated industries.

Alongside an exhibition, there will be free creative workshops, and a panel discussion featuring all-female, professional contributors ~ to talk about their experiences as women building their careers in the arts, whilst offering positive suggestions as to how women can, and are countering the disproportionate representation of their male peers.

To register your interest in either of these, please email hello@leedsgallery.com
